Playing Rules

Please acquaint yourself with, and follow, these rules. They will help the club function in an orderly manner with enjoyment for all.

The MTTC cannot survive without the help of ALL members! The officers volunteer their services and time. They receive no salary, financial rewards, or other compensations. They do their best to maintain professional standards within the constraints of a public school facility. The MTTC is a cooperative organization and your assistance is essential. Therefore, please follow the procedures below to help keep the club going and to ensure proper table tennis etiquette. If you follow these rules, you will have a great time!

  • At the beginning and end of each session, HELP SET UP and HELP PUT AWAY tables and other equipment.

  • Equipment must be stored no later than 9:45 PM.

  • During the session, bring out additional tables if warranted.

  • When others are waiting, LIMIT YOUR WARM-UP TIME TO 5 MINUTES.

  • If others are waiting to play, BOTH PLAYERS should limit play to one set [3 out of 5 11-point games]. If only one player is waiting, the winner may remain on the table.

  • Do not monopolize a table.

  • Make new members feel welcome.

  • If another ball enters your court area, stop play, call a let, and return the ball.

  • Try to play against players other than your friends.
